Small boy's definition of Father's Day: It's just like Mother's Day only you don't spend so much." -- Unknown

1. LavNavLav Nav from Iwwot.com
Very bizarre idea but if I do say so myself, utterly brilliant! No more blinding bright lights in the middle of the night. The sensor will pick up movement and turn the light on and off when you leave. Loving the green light for seat down and the HARSH red light warning for seat up :-)

The only thing that bothers me slightly is having to fish the device out of the loo if the sticky pads loosen....here's hoping they don't hey?!

£19.99 from www.iwoot.com, if you are a BaBee Cardholder you will get a 10% discount.

I shall report back on how well this gift was received :-) and whether or not I manage to teach my 3 year old son not to use it as a target!

2. Sagaform BBQ / Grill Skewers with HandleSagaForm Skewers
Although I am buying this for my husband from my son, really I am the one that will get the most benefit :0) A typical BBQ nutcase, my husband only thinks in terms of steaks, sausages & burgers! what about chicken, salmon, prawn or veggie skewers for the ladies?

Groovy idea, no more burnt pieces of wood or burnt fingers when picking up the metal skewers.

£12.99 from www.caabliving.com, if you are a BaBee Cardholder you will get a 15% discount.

3. Personalised photo card
I usually make my cards but this year I really wanted to send one with gorgeous photos on the front that represent the close relationship between me and my father and also my children and their father, sometimes a picture says a thousand words.

£2.89 (incl. postage) per card from www.winstonandharry.com, if you are a BaBee Cardholder you will get a 10% discount.

4. Make your own chocolate truffles

This site has some really good images on for ideas. I especially like the SuperDad cookies. My dad is a bit of a chocoholic so below is also a macho truffle recipe.

Russian Chocolate Truffles

Quantity Ingredients
175g (6oz) milk chocolate with honeycomb crunch
2 tbsp whipping cream
2 tbsp vodka
175g (6oz) milk chocolate
1 tsp vegetable oil

Method
Melt the honeycomb chocolate with the cream in the top of a double boiler over hot but not boiling water. Stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat and stir in the vodka. Put in a small container, cover, and place in fridge until firm. (around 2 hrs) Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper. Using a 1 inch scoop or melon baller, form the chocolate mixture into balls and drop onto the baking sheet. Place in the freezer until frozen, (around 1 to 2 hours). Melt the other milk chocolate with the oil in the top of a double boiler over simmering not boiling water, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove the chocolate balls from the freezer. Line a second baking sheet. Using a fork, turn each chocolate ball in the chocolate, coating evenly and transfer to the baking sheet. If the chocolate cools too much reheat it and continue coating the balls. Place back in the fridge until firm, around 15 minutes, before serving. To keep, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a month or freezer for up to 3 months.
