Case Studies

"This case study is fictional and has been constructed to help show you how you can use the BaBeeCard discounts to help you save money".

Daisy has heard about the BaBeeCard from a friend. Intrigued, she comes to this website and is very excited! A Card just for Mums, which isn't a credit card, has loads of discounts attached, can earn her a bit of money and makes a donation to charity? Brilliant!

If she recommends it to 8 friends who then go and buy the card, she'll get £40 from Blueberry as a thank you!**See Ts&Cs

Gifting
Daisy has now announced to the world that she's pregnant. Everyone is delighted, especially her Mum, Jean as this will be her first grandchild. However, Jean's worried about how her daughter will cope financially, especially when her salary has gone down to SMP.

When she hears about the BaBeeCard, she realises this is the perfect way to help, without offending her daughter. She logs onto the BaBeeCard website and buys. This is the easiest way to make regular contributions to help Daisy with her new family. Jean can take full advantage of all the BaBeeCard benefits herself and also has a safe way of sending Daisy some money, whilst knowing that any money on Daisy's BaBeeCard will go further if used within the Discount Club.

When Daisy's baby arrives, Jean puts £250 onto her BaBeeCard and sends it to Daisy's card via SMS text, as a welcome present!

Gift Ideas
When Daisy announces that she has just given birth to a healthy baby boy Barney, her family and friends are overjoyed at the good news. However, some of her family and friends are located all around the UK and want to send her gifts for her and the new baby.

Daisy has sent out a card announcing the birth which has informed friends and family of the last 9 digits of her BaBeeCard details so that they can load her card via their online bank account (see FAQs for details).

Text Top-Ups
One day, Daisy is in the middle of a baby store and realises that her card is low on funds and she doesn't have enough money to make her necessary purchases. She knows her Mum is always happy to help out, so sends her text asking if she could put some money onto Daisy's BaBeeCard.

Jean is out shopping herself so doesn't have access to the internet. She had previously registered a debit card to her BaBeeCard in 'My Account' on the BaBeeCard website. She sends a text message with the amount she wants to credit Daisy. As she can't remember Daisy's cardnumber, she puts Daisy's mobile number in the text instead. Because Daisy has registered her mobile number with her BaBeeCard, the system is able to put the money onto her card, within seconds. So within a minute of Daisy sending the text to her Mum, the funds are on her card, allowing her to buy that cute outfit in the baby store.

Mummy-get-Mummy
Daisy loves her BaBeeCard. Because it's a 'Pay-As-You-Go' Card, she can easily budget for her new family. To keep the card safe, she always Unlocks the card via SMS text before she uses it, and Locks it again afterwards. She has saved a load of money by using the BaBee Discount Club offers.

In fact, she is so impressed with the card, that she decides to recommend it to her friends. She digs out the BaBeeCard Invites which came with her Card. She separates the Invites and writes the last 9 digits of her card in the boxes as instructed. She then hands out the Invites to her friends.

When they apply for the BaBeeCard, they say that a friend recommended them. They enter the 9 digits Daisy wrote down. When they have successfully purchased the card, £5 is put into Daisy's Card as a 'Thank You' from Blueberry, for each successful sale, as long as the friend's card isn't cancelled within two weeks.

Daisy is well chuffed!

Stuff for baby
It's amazing how much stuff babies need isn't it? Daisy was shocked at it all! Luckily she can save some money by buying from the BaBee Discount Club Partners.

Daisy spends £450 at baby2childhood.co.uk and saves £45, and £600 at thebabycatalogue.co.uk, saving £60.

Decorating:
The nursery needs painting! Arrgh! Daisy hates decorating, fortunately, Barney's Daddy doesn't mind, and he's happy that Daisy can save money on this by buying Homebase and Wickes gift cards, especially when Daisy gives him a list of other jobs around the house which need doing!

Daisy buys £200 of Homebase gift cards and £500 of Wickes vouchers - saving £66!

Christmas
Wow! Barney's first Chrismas. Everyone is very excited as they'll all be piling over to Daisy's house to celebrate. Lots of expense of course, but Daisy is relieved to know she can save plenty.

She buys £500 vouchers all the food from Marks & Spencer and some presents too (Barney's Daddy likes their shirts!). Other presents come from Boots (£100 vouchers) and Argos (£200 gift cards) and she buys presents for her nieces and nephews from TVToyz.co.uk (£100 spend).

Over two Christmases, Daisy will save £112!

Stuff for Mummy:
Daisy feels it's about time she spoilt herself! It's easy to forget that she's not just a Mummy, but a person too!

By using the BaBee Discount Club to get discounts at our Partners, she can save up to £40 each year!

Clothing:
Daisy now buys some of her shoes, glasses and clothes online for all the family, and can save up to £40 if she spends £400 every year! She also buys £200 of GAP gift vouchers, saving a further £20!

Furniture and electrical goods:
Now Barney has all that he needs (for the moment anyway!), Daisy wants to spend some money on the house. She buys £3000 of Comet Gift vouchers to spend on a lovely big LCD TV (for Barney's Daddy really!), a massive fridge, a music system and an Ipod for herself. This saves her an amazing £300!

Now the lounge has a nice new TV in it, the old three piece suite is looking a bit ropey. She goes to The Cotswold Company website via the BaBee Discount Club. There she spends £3000 kitting out the house, saving another amazing £300!

Garden
The summer's on its way and the garden is a mess! Not very nice for Barney be crawling about in the mud and weeds!

Time to get the garden into shape!

Daisy spends £400 at crocus.co.uk on buying plants and new garden tools (saving £40), and £500 at furniture123.co.uk on lovely new garden furniture (saving £50).

So far Daisy has saved hundreds of pounds! And she hasn't even yet used the discounts offered by our other partners! So while we're sure you can save hundreds of pounds by using the BaBeeCard and the BaBee Discount Club, who knows, you might do better than Daisy! Let us know!
