Don’t buy expensive sandwiches that will set you back a small fortune each week, why not make your own instead?
You will not only be able to incorporate your lunch into your weekly family shopping bill but you will also have total control over what ingredients go in it. A great way to cut calories and save money all at the same time.
I sometimes send my husband off with his own hearty lunch such as, spaghetti bolognaise, lasagna, he even gets beef tortillas if he moans at me enough the night before.
Why not try some of these tasty and quick recipes:
Chicken Tortilla Wrap
* Grilled chicken
* Lettuce
* Low cal mayonaise (why not add some lemon juice and crushed garlic to give it extra zing - just be careful not to breathe on your boss!)
Ham, Cheese & Mustard granary bap/bagel
* Sliced ham
* Mature chedder
* Mustard, either wholegrain (or if you are really brave, some good ol’ english “blow your socks off”) Colemans.
* Granary bap or a bagel
Tuna, sweetcorn & red onion pitta pocket
* Wholegrain or white pitta
* Tuna
* Sweetcorn
* Low cal mayo
* Thinly sliced red onion (remember the comment above about breathing on your boss!)
* Rocket or lambs lettuce
Pack some crudités, cherry tomatoes and fresh fruit.
